The Sabro Electric + Gas Geyser 35 Gallons is a dual-power storage water heater with a 35-gallon tank, heated by a gas burner, an electric element, or both at once. It sits between Sabro’s 25-gallon domestic model and the 50-gallon commercial size, and is the capacity most large households move to when a 25-gallon tank keeps running out.
The winter morning problem
Hot water demand in a Pakistani home is not spread through the day. It concentrates into a 90-minute window in the morning, when three or four people shower before work and school — in the same weeks that gas pressure is at its lowest.
That combination is what defeats smaller geysers. A 25-gallon tank serves the first two people comfortably and then runs cold, and a weak winter gas flame cannot reheat it fast enough for the third. The 35-gallon Sabro holds enough hot water to cover the full morning rush in one heat-up, and if gas pressure is too low to get the tank hot in the first place, the electric element does it instead.
Is 35 gallons the right size?
Match the capacity to how many outlets run at once, not to how many people live in the house:
| Household | Suitable capacity |
|---|---|
| Small family, one bathroom | 10–15 gallons |
| Standard family, two bathrooms | 25 gallons |
| Large or joint family, three bathrooms | 35 gallons |
| 3+ outlets running together, or commercial use | 50 gallons |
Choose 35 gallons for a large household with up to three bathrooms. Step up to 50 gallons if the geyser will serve a hostel, guest house, salon or any setting with sustained demand through the day rather than a concentrated peak.
Two fuels, one tank
The gas burner heats the tank from below; the electric element heats the water directly from inside. Both are independent, and a power control selects which is active.
Running them together gives the fastest heat-up, which is worth using for the first tank of the day in winter. Through the rest of the year, gas alone is sufficient and is the cheaper fuel per unit of heat — treat the electric element as the backup that removes the winter failure point, not as the default setting.
Build and safety
The inner tank is galvanized and rated for high pressure, housed in a heat-proof metal body. Galvanized construction resists the corrosion that comes from constant contact with hot water, which is what eventually causes tanks to leak in lower-grade geysers.
The unit carries a safety valve and holds water at a maximum of 80°C — hot enough for any household use while staying below the point where water scalds on contact, which matters in a home with children.
Installation
A full 35-gallon tank holds around 140 litres of water, so this is a floor-standing unit on a level, load-bearing surface — not a wall installation.
It needs three connections: water inlet and outlet, a gas line, and a 220V electrical point. The electrical point is the item most homes lack when replacing an older gas-only geyser, so check for a socket within reach of the position before installation day. The burner also needs proper room ventilation.
Maintenance
Flush the tank periodically to clear sediment, especially in hard-water areas, since build-up reduces heating efficiency and strains the element. Have the gas burner and connections serviced before each winter and the safety valve checked annually.
